My H is a die hard fan of potatoes.He would just chew anything which is made of potato.I personally love them a lot but after seeing him eating like this,I felt like not eating them any more ;)He gets bored to est them in routine forms and myself continuously need to give the dish a different look every time I prepare.This version is in the form of sticks where it can taken a snack as well as a side dish.and it is very spicy.
Ingredients:-
- Potatoes-1/2 kg(peeled and cut into sticks )
- Oil-for frying
- Red Chille powder-3tbsp
- Garam Masala Powder-1tbsp
- Cumin powder-1tbsp
- Coriander powder-1tbsp
- Madras Curry Powder-2tbsp(optional)
- Salt to taste
- Chopped coriander
Method:-
Dry the cut potato sticks by wrapping them in a tissue paper or kitchen towel.Mix all the powders except curry powder and rest them for 15mins.Then take a non-stick pan and heat oil of approximately 3tbsp.Add the coated potatoes and fry them constantly without lid until they turn golden brown.Reduce the flame if the tend to burn and again repeat the process with medium flame.Garnish with coriander.Sprinkle chat masala if you need.
You need to chose big potatoes to get nice long sticks.Enjoy them with hot rice,sambar or dal 🙂
