Walnut ladoo is a healthy dessert thats different form the traditional ladoos. It makes use of roasted walnut powder and condensed milk.
  • • 250 gms Walnut Powder
  • • ½ Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • • ½ teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • • Nuts for garnish, I used dried cranberries
  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan preferably. Add in the walnut powder and roast for few minutes without burning. Keep it aside,
  2. Pour the condensed milk in the same pan and stir for 5-8 min without burning the bottom.
  3. Add in the roasted walnut powder and cardamom powder and mix well such that the mixture is uniform across. Keep on low flame for 5 min(only) until the mixture thickens a bit. you will need to be able to shape them into ladoos.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool down. Grease your hands with little ghee and shape them into uniform balls.
  5. Garnish each ladoo with a nut on top, I used dried cran berries that are roasted in ghee.Serve them with a cup of tea :)
You don't need any extra sugare as the condensed milk will have sugar already. I used Nestle brand carnation condensed milk.
Use can powdered almonds in equal proportions to walnut powder for a diff taste.
Avoid sticking the mixture to the pan else the ladoos will get a bland taste.
If you feel the sweetness is not enough add in powdered sugar while sirring the condensed milk,
These ladoos tasted best on the same day rather than the next day.I mean to say they became a little hard the next day as I haven't used more ghee
If the mixture is too wet adjust walnut powder accordingly, this should be very easy for you manage.
Additionally you can roll the ladoos in grated coconut powder for garnish sake
